It has been about a week now since the new map pack for the game “Call of Duty Black Ops” was released and it has sparked my interest in the game once again.
I originally bought Black Ops when it came out and spent the first week afterward playing as much as possible in multiplayer with a slew of different geezers. Joining matches and fighting the timmy horde alongside new and old friends was such a blast than.
After that first week thou I got so bored with the maps that I just lost interest in continuing on playing. The maps at first glance where great, but they didn’t have that lasting feel to me. I got to know them so well that it wasn’t much different between the matches, always running and doing the same thing over and over again.
With the release of these new maps has brought back that wonder and need to explore and find new ways to stick it to the timmys. It has renewed my interest in the game and has been great fun learning the new maps.
As you may or may not know there are four new maps in the new map pack called “First Strike”, Berlin Wall, Discovery, Kowloon, and Stadium.
Berlin wall is a ton of fun, especially when you can get a group of organized friends together and lock down part of the map. It is so gratifying watching the timmies try over and over to dislodge you once your team is in place.
Discovery is a wide open snow map with plenty of places to set up and began snipping if that is your thing. But there are plenty of cover and different paths to get across the map that the snipers don’t have a hugh advantage.
Kowloon is a rat warren of twist, turns, dead ends, one way paths, that is difficult to remember which path leads to where. It is a close quarters map with very little long rang of firing.
Then there is Stadium. A map with plenty of cover and different advantage points to watch out for.
Another part to the new map pack is another zombie map which I haven’t had a chance to play yet called Ascension. From what I have read and heard from other geezers that this new map is another great addition to the zombie madness.
My recommendation is that if you have not picked up the new map pack yet to do so now. It will breath some fresh air into your game play which may have gone stale. I know it has for me.
