So, I was in a Big Team Slayer match last night... as soon as the lobby screen loaded, a group of 3 Timmies started talking random trash about my Gamertag/me, trying to be "cool" I assume. So, I made a comment about "Avoid This Player" and "Mute", then ignored him.

I did actually submit a negative review for trash talking, but did not actually mute him. (I think it's amusing to tell people you are muting them and then just don't respond to them, rather than actually mute them...) He proceeded to talk trash the entire time.

Then, I'm in the cliff cave on Hemorrage attempting to snipe and he starts shooting me in the back to lower my shields. I just turned around and stared at him for a minute while he is saying stuff to his friends about how he could "kill me so easily" and "shoot me in the head", etc. That's when it happened.

I shot him in the face. I couldn't help it... it seemed like it had to be done.

The really satisfying part was a few minutes later when he betrayed me (not sure if it was on purpose or not), I got the option to boot him. Of course, I did not hesitate and he and his buddies were booted. Four against Eight for the rest of the match kinda sucked, BUT ... Worth it!

Anyways, that's my story. I've never intentionally betrayed a teammate before and I feel a little dirty... but also justified.

A week or so ago, a friend of mine met up with me online and we did some BTB. He's very new to the game, so I generally escort him around the map and say "Here, try this one out." In one instance, I told him to take the Scorpion tank on Hemorrhage and go nuts. I had a sniper rifle, so I wasn't worried about riding along.

Some people in this game get so annoyed when another player beats them to a weapon they want to use. In this case, my friend beat some random a**hole to the Scorpion tank. Rather than shrug it off and find a new way to help out our team, this kid decides he's just going to follow the tank shooting it with his pistol. He did enough to lower the shields of my friend just in time for a member of the opposite team to swoop in for the easy kill (with a single DMR shot, if I remember correctly).

So, I sniped our betrayer in the head. And got booted. But, it felt good.

It would be nice if they would do "reflective" damage where they take the damage for shooting teamates (aka MW2 hardcore playlists)

Weak? No. Sometimes killing jerk ass teammates is the most gratifying event in a game. I have no regrets when it is well deserved.

I had something similar this past Sunday. My friend just got the game Sunday and I was helping him out in the campaign. So I decided to help him get some cR's by playing FF with some randoms. So we ended up on the Waterfront map and just as the game started some guy (I know his XBL name) took a shot at me so I turned to my right and walked up on him then he stared at me and backed down and at the same time shot me enough to kill me. I could have shot back (which I started to do) but I remembered the Boot option. So as hes shooting me the other random is trying to get my friend to shoot him. So my friend and I were in a private chat so I told him to let him kill you. So the guy backed off my friend and stayed in the game. Well back to me. The option came up to boot and I did with 100% satisfaction. Then after the match I submitted a bad review about him. Me FTW!

Try and mute if you can. If enough people mute the a**hats then they will be muted by default in games.

You are dirty... you and your bathroom excursions with Randy. I always have fun with the fools in matchmaking unless they are having terrible feedback/noise coming out of their mics.

If not, I would never have been witness to Halo 2 and Halo 3 quotes like...

"Where is the bazooka? Guys, where is the bazooka!?!" (rockets)

A 8 year old saying in a high voice, "Someone get in the speck-tree with me!" (over and over again)

And my favorite...

Gruff sounding Jersey accent guy asking who else was on defense with him in a BTB match on Containment in Halo 2 - when I said "I am here." he walked over to me and said, "Here, take my Brute Shot... I have to go take a S#%@!"
