Just use your camera app, then if you want to make them look crappy later, you can do it in photoshop.
i like instagram. there's a TON of crap out there. seriously i wonder how some of the pics that make that top page ever do it. probably just kids with 20k friends. but i have some really good friends and we almost always try to shoot good stuff. and lomo...for what it is, i like it. it's not supposed to be for more than an 8mp phone camera, but interesting stuff can be done with it.
i will say i usually only post with instagram. i usually take pics with Camera+ or Hipstamatic when i use my phone.
i took some more shots the other day. they were more for you guys get an idea of what my camera is capable of. i used the "foliage" setting on it which bumps the color up a little. i cropped a few of them, as well. i'd appreciate any thoughts you guys have on them. here's one example and the rest are in my flikr account under "Garden".

Real Nice Lux! The depth of field that you can get from that S5 is pretty sweet! In the crop if you could move the flower over to the right a bit more, you'll get more of that background plant into the picture and give the eye somewhere to go.
(I'll go check out the rest of the pix on flickr)

The wife and I were out exploring yesterday (the wait for the ferry to Whidbey Island was 2 freakin' hours at 2pm) and we ended up at this nice little park we'd never heard of before: Kayak Point (not far from Tulalip).
We noticed some white things way the heck up in the top of a tree. After staring for a while and moving around to get a better vantage point, we thought they were eagles and went and grabbed the camera and binoculars. Thanks to the power of megapixels (even when impeded by a 18-135mm kit lens), I bring you a pair of eagles at the park:

(I'm going to order that Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM today. I'm tired of not having any range to speak of.)
that flower photo is not cropped. i know what you mean, but i'm gonna have to work with i got in that pic. but like i said, it was more for you guys to see what my camera does.
NICE shot of the eagles! i have no idea what you're talking about as far as the lens kit goes, but i'm guessing you have a decent zoom! there is an eagle's nest not far from here, but it's actually on top of a cell tower in a populated area next to a main and busy road. i've wanted to get shots of them, but i'm not sure where i can set up, nor do i know when they'll be at the nest.

We had a pretty cool sunset last night and I happened to be in the right place at a decent enough time with my camera to get a snap of it. You'll want to look at this on a decently calibrated monitor so that you can see the Seattle skyline hiding below the mountains...

Thanks guys.
Squidge, I can see the skyline on my phone, but not all that well. I want to see it on my pc later. But from what can see, it's a really cool subtle contrast. I'm glad the camera was able to capture that.
