    Post New Site Icon !

    Hey Everybody!

Have you ever noticed the little icon next to the geezergamers.com in the url and the little icon on the left of your browse tabs that you have the site open with?

Those things are called Favicon's and they transform into robots when you're not looking.... no I mean they are called Favicon's but they only transform your browsing experience by making it more fun to see an icon that reflects our site in your booksmarks, browser tab, and site address.

We have a few to choose from and we're going to change them up every few days so folks can see them all. The thing is, depending on your browser, it might either take a while to show up for you, or might not show up at all.

If you don't see the new favicon rightnow (a view of uncle louie's face) you'll want to try clearing your cache and restarting your browser to see if that gets it to work (that worked for Flu).

Let us know in this thread if you can't see it in whatever browser you usually use (it hasn't yet shown up for me in IE8 on Win7 but I haven't cleared my cache yet) and then we'll get on with the cycling of favicons and then get into some voting.

To clear your cache in IE8, select the Saftey / Delete Browsing History menu option, then uncheck all the checked boxes if they are checked like mine was, and then just check "Temporary Internet Files", and click the delete button.

In Firefox, go to Tools->Options. Go to Advanced and click the Clear Now button.

Also you can set Firefox to clear the cache every time you close the browser- for "security". Yeah, that's why I clear my cache.........security!

Don't know if IE has a setting for that.

So how do you do that? I know how to make Firefox not keep history, but I don't know how to tell it not to keep the cache. I doubt I'd use it, but I'm curious.

Let's see if I can remember. It's under tools> options> privacy, then there is a checkbox for "clear history when firefox closes". Then you can click on the settings button to the right of that and you can choose exactly what clears when FF closes.
