No, simply because they are wielding guns and are active participants on the battlefield as opposed to an object simply for capture (who are defenseless). To me, that's the difference between the two.

Ah, well that's a little more specific than the general "violence against women". But, let's have some fun with your thought process anyway. You say the women in DNF will be defenseless, this actually is not true, that we know of so far. Most likely the DNF women will have the ultimate defense: you will not be able to kill them. On the other hand, GoW3 women will not have the ultimate defense. You will be able to kill them, brutally. Yes, they will have guns but they are vulnerable. So it seems that it bothers you to smack an immortal female on the bottom but you see a mortal, albeit resurrect-able, woman with a gun and you have no problem burying a chainsaw in her chest. Get help man! (Just kidding, just having a little fun)

Klyde, I have to admit that I agree with your sentiment. I could not bring myself to harvest Little Sisters in Bioshock, it was too repulsive. Perhaps, if more people, like you, recognized that their responses to video games are really a matter of taste, then we would see less finger-pointing and more personal responsibility.

I'm game to keep the ball rolling. I actually didn't view them as having the ultimate defense... interesting. Let's then assume you can't kill them. But then they are more on par with being an object, or even property that you cannot destroy. At least in GoW3 you'll be able to select the female characters (not weak, innocent ones, mind you) and lay waste to Locust hordes. Can you select to be a female character in DN? Then they are still objects/trophies/property that one fights over in CTF. I hope for the Dev's sake that they didn't make them black/African-American women in CTF. What happens then?

You seem to be under the impression that DNF women are "innocent bystanders". These are not women Duke randomly grabbed off the street, no, just like a woman who attaches herself to a mobster, Duke's ho's know what they are getting themselves into with him. (Side note: I use the word "ho" only because it is an oft-used and celebrated reference to women in American popular culture. You know, the same culture that will probably get it's panties in a bunch over the butt-slapping in this game. Not referring to you in that last sentence, klyde.) By putting themselves in this situation I would argue that these women WANT to be spanked by Duke!

So why the struggle then when you are trying to capture them and return them to your base, if all the participants are Duke incarnations? Wouldn't they want to then run along side him, never resisting? Or are you saying it's a subconscious thing?
