Both sides of the political spectrum seek to protect you from yourself, because you are not as intelligent as they, nor do you understand what is best for you, like they do. You can't spend your money or decide which charitable institutions are best as well as govt, so they will take it from you and put it into favored govt entities...I like the congressman's cigarette example: Everyone knows that the warning labels provide the missing information people had never seen before and cause thousands and thousands of people to quit who wouldn't ordinarily know that smoking is bad for you....

Warning labels on video games is even dumber because I would bet that the link between video games and violence is far less clear than the link between smoking and health issues....some PhD probably wrote up a study with "statistics" saying that disturbed little Timmy played "violent" video games and did some violent action, therefore video games caused his violent activity...cause and effect cherry picked.

Waste of money when we are already more than broke as a country.....

You know ... 93.7% of statistics are made up.

I say they just run with it. Put the warning label on it...

Playing this game may or may not cause violence...Itchy rashes... Full body hair loss... Projectile vomiting... Gigantic eyeball... The condition known as "hot dog fingers"... Children born with the head of a golden retriever... Seeing the dead... Bone liquefication... Possession by the Prince of Darkness... Tail growth... Elderly pregnancy...

    Oh, and the other thing...

It blows my mind that, sure, there's a link between playing violent video games and aggressive behavior. But they always assume which direction is the causal relationship. Violent games must surely cause violent behavior, right? Why don't they ever consider that A) kids like to play video games and B) aggressive, violent kids like to do aggressive, violent things so therefore C) aggressive, violent kids probably like aggressive, violent video games??????

It's like saying, "Being fat causes you to eat lots of cheese fries, because I've seen a lot of fat people eating cheese fries."

Oooh, I just thought of something else. We should put a warning label on every musical instrument ever saying that it will lead to drug use and probably STDs.

I believe these same addicts listened to quiet riot, twisted sister and alice cooper as teens, found the subliminal secret messages to "worship satan" and "kill all humans" when the albums where played backwards, and therefore the mold was set for them to become warped, destructive future dictators....
