General Discussion: Starcraft 2

weird we don't have a starcraft 2 thread yet... anyways here it is now.

I think i'm going to be picking this up this weekend. I spent many an hour playing starcraft and brood war back in the day and am looking forward to finally picking this up (now that i have a computer that can play it).

so how is it?

I played it pretty solidly for a month after it came out, but I haven't gotten back to it in awhile. We had several Geezers playing it and a few threads. I guess they were lost when they nuked the old site.

I still boot it up and do some comp-stomping on Easy every now and then. The campaign was stellar and worth the price alone. But I'm horrible at the multiplayer. I did play enough to get in a league but have only won 1 ranked match and it was due to a disconnect.

It has a ton of re-playability no matter what you want to do, I highly recommend it. The achievements are really well done also, if you're into that sorta thing.

My character code is Mojo/364 if anyone wants to add me as a friend.

I've gotten threw the first 10 campaign missions, and i got to say it looks different but feels/plays almost the same as starcraft 1 did. of course theirs new units so there are new strategies but it took 10 years for this?

still its a fun game so far.

What is your favorite Custom map to play?

The only one I've ever tried was Nexus Wars, the typing game. I like the idea of it, but it didn't really grab me enough to go back to it. I'd like to play some customs with friends, not with randoms.

I tried some kind of tower defense this morning before work, wish i could remember the name, and it took a bit to learn but once i got it down it was fun.

They never did put lan play back into SC2 did they? It is all server play on blizzards server, right? That is what has kept me from buying it. I loved SC lan parties back in the day. And lan parties nowadays is much better thanks to portable laptops!

Same here but all the sudden I got the bug and have been playing AI Medium, going for those 100 Medium AI custom game cheevos. At this pace, maybe sometime around Heart of the Swarm I might get the cheevo for one race.

You know what it is about this game. I suck at it. I hate sucking at games.
