I am not that impressed so far. Facial detail is impressive, but not enough to make me not regret buying this game. I will play it through hopefully, and if my feelings change, I will update this.
Thanks Devil.. maybe I'll save my $60 for now.
Thanks!

If you were looking for another Red Dead Redemption style shoot-em-up and quest, this isn't the game you're looking for.
The main story missions are like an interactive crime TV Drama for the most part, the side missions each provide several minutes of shoot-em-up game play in the mold of RDR.
My girlfriend who is a crime drama show nut asks to sit down and watch me/play through the missions with me, so it definitely seems to hit that TV viewer sweet spot.
If they support it with even more cases in the future, it'll only strengthen a solid gaming experience.

Yeah I agree. I think you have to understand what you're getting with this game. I think it's pretty good actually. Is it perfect? Of course not. I mean I posted on the "buy next" thread that I wanted this title to get away from shooters and rpgs for a bit. This is providing almost exactly what I was looking for, which is a breath of fresh air before Deus Ex, GoW 3, etc, come out.
Well, I ended up buying it and haven't played it in months nowOh well. Maybe a cool update will surface that's actually fun. The graphics they put into the dead bodies/injuries/nudity etc is simply amazing. For that reason alone, the game is worth looking into. But NOT for exciting gameplay.
Thanks!

I think the game play is compelling here, but not in the way most games are. Much like its source material, this game is a slow-burn. You have to want to be in the world. I nearly 100%-ed it and it was for that reason. I'm a big fan of the genre and it was right up my alley. But as for action, it comes in pieces. Don't expect GTA or RDR. It's more similar to Heavy Rain than GTA.
I bought it when it came out, finished the missions, messed with the achievements, then got bored. It looks amazing and it's definitely a major breakthrough in gaming on some levels, but it just wasn't something I could really turn my OCD loose on. It might have been better if I actually liked the crime drama shows that are popular now.
I think my main problem is that too often I felt like I was watching a show instead of playing a game.
