The free-to-play strategy game Age of Empires Online has officially been released.

Is there an Xbox console version in the works or is this PC only? I played AoE quite a bit several years back and it is an awesome game; it's much like Civilization but a very different take on civ building. I pretty much only play Xbox nowadays but this one would tempt me back into PC gaming....

I have been testing this for a while and I like it a lot. It's free but if you want to play Coop matches or ranked matches you need to buy the premium packages. If somebody has the premium package, he/she can invite a "free player" to join the fun in a MP game.
So far I'm having fun doing the quest and runs so smooth!

PC only (for the moment; although nothing's been even hinted at it being on the console).

I downloaded it, but I haven't tried it yet. It's pretty neat that it's Games for Windows - Live and you can earn achievements.

One achievement is to visit a friend's city -- but it seems you have to be in the same realm.

Anyone in the Marathon realm whose city I can visit? Or, if not, what realm are you in? (You can build a city in whatever realm you want; it just defaults you to one.)
