Mike, looks like it will just be me and you tonight!

I too am not shirking my civic duty...I just find the debate easier to digest by reading a copy of the transcript the following morning. I'm able to retain the information better. Also like Mike said, at this point, I already have a good idea on who I'm going to vote for and I look at past performance as a better indicator of future success and as a better picture of the candidate overall. What they say during a debate has little to do with who I'm going to vote for.

Edit: We could all still join party chat while Mike and I play REACH and you all watch the debate. It will sort of be like we are all together except when the candidates are debating foreign policy or economic issues, you'll hear the random call or or swearing after I get assassinated right after getting rockets on a map.

I totally hear you guys, and wish I could play with you guys. I don't think you're shirking, and there's certainly enough information out there to make an informed choice. Indeed, I know who I'm going to vote for. But I'm a bit too wonkish for my own good and have to experience in real time.

Actually, it's kind of cool. My 15 year old daughter has been becoming politically aware and we've been watching the debates together. So, it's been a bonding thing and I've also been able to help her determine fact from fiction.

Should we all try for an alternate night to play this week?

I'll be on tonight as well. I had my mind made up a long time ago and there isn't either one of them can or will say that's going to change my mind.

I can't wait for this election to be over. I'm frankly sick of all of all the crap that gets thrown back & forth. I'm in favor of throwing everyone of them out and starting from scratch. Viva La Revolution!

Good words, all! I too am anxious to have the process ended, as much for having the shenanigans cease, but also because as a Federal employee I wanna know who my boss is for the next 4 years. Does not surprise me that geezers do, in fact, take it upon themselves to make an informed decision in the election. I'd expect nothing less! Sean, that is pretty cool that your daughter is old enough to express some interest. I think that is great.

The debate/matchmaking party chat would be epic!

Yeah, I was actually thinking about having a Spartanhawk debate snarkfest tonight. Would be epic.

I find my daughter's interest fascinating. It's good that she is becoming discerning. I'm only trying a bit to influence which direction, but mostly I'm just encouraging her to ask questions and logic things out. She's also taken it upon herself to read a book called 50 Economics Concepts or something. I nearly had tears in my eyes when she explained Keynesian economics to me!

But I too am ready for this to be over. It sucks there's a debate when we have some wayward Hawks coming back tonight!
