Spartanhawk Shore Leave Thread

Spartanhawks: I will be on extended leave beginning August 31 (wednesday) until September 6 (tuesday). I'll miss geezer Halo night as well as the next practice on Monday, Sept. 5. Lots of family festivities for my brother-in-laws wedding in Buffalo. Might be able to squeeze in one or two games tonight but we'll see how getting packed and loading the family truckster goes.

How I'll cope with not playing for a week: kick-arse original wings and beef-on-weck.

Fellow Spartanhawks. I am sorry to report that I have been detained behind enemy lines and will not be able to make practice tonight, Monday, 5th September, as I softly and deftly walk my way out of enemy territory ...

In reality I am at my mother-in-laws and while I humped my gear to her house, I failed to remember until just now (oh no!) that this Monday also happened to be my wife's birthday. Madly running around now to get set up, gonna be tight--think DMR's with cracklin' shields, who's gonna win this duel--?

Alas, I do apologize and will be on later this week for Wednesday night and the unofficial practice on Thursday. See you then.

I'm back and reporting for duty! R&R has been kind to me, but I'm itching to get some trigger time. As luck would have it, my better half has quite a bit to catch up on for her work which should mean I'll have nothing but time on my hands for the next few nights. Oo-rah! Now let's just hope that my meager skills haven't completely deteriorated from my break. I'll be lighting up the forums again, too!

Good to see you back, Horath! Lbar, we fully support taking care of family around here, family first for sure.

As for my own unintended, unwanted and unappreciated shore leave, have a tech coming tomorrow (sometime between 8am and 7pm, gotta love these guys). Not sure when I'll be back online, but I will say I am experiencing some pretty heavy withdrawals! Sorry I didn't make it last night and for any disturbance I caused trying to join the practice room. Hope to see you all soon. As always, shoot something in the face for me, will ya!

I'm not sure I am requesting shore leave or what. I'm not a full fledged member so on the one hand its easier for me not to be in the unit. But that doesn't make this any easier.

Probably what I should do is for the time being withdraw my request to be in the unit. It's not fair to depend on me. My world just fell apart all around me, and I don't know how much I'll be on Halo (or Xbox for that matter). I might be on, and I would certainly like to play with you guys, but I don't think I can devote what I need to toward the unit at this time.
