With Blizzcon coming up later this month...I can't be the only Geezer hoping we might get a release date. If nothing else, there should be a ton of new info coming out.
Really can't wait. The original, expansion and sequel were the games that really cemented me as a life long gamer
UPDATE: Mods...is there a way to move this to the Action/Adventure thread? Came in thinking Starcraft and posted about DIII !

I didn't really play Diablo 1 or 2 much. But seeing how Starcraft made an awesome transition to 3D has really made me look forward to Diablo 3.

I know a lot of Diablo players, but I've never played the games myself.
What would be awesome: A version of Diablo 3 for the XBox 360 that has cross-platform play with the PC.

Do yourself a favour and run out and buy a copy of the Diablo II Warchest. Worth every penny, even if it is 10 (holy crap!) years old! I think it speaks for the game that it is still played by so many people.

Zero Drop Soul
If you guys still enjoy Diablo, you should give Torchlight a try. It's as close as you will get to a modern Diablo before D3 releases. And it's only $20 if you like it after the free trial is over.
I second this recommendation. Torchlight is as close to Diablo as any game on the market. Former Blizzard guys are behind it...and it shows.
Torchlight 2 is due out early next year, and it will have Co-op mode.

Diablo was great.
Diablo 2 was ok.
Diablo 3 will have RealID most likely, and never get installed on my PC
Oh, and since I haven't said it in a while - Screw Activision.
