I created a dude in hot pink armor and matching outrageous hair (Guile style). Named him Jammie Donut. Didn't expect him to prove he was Colonel material and my best assault class. More alarmingly, my wife is now rooting for him, so he is now taking less risks. He even spends more times in the barracks (when he isn't in the infirmary).

My best soldier is a female heavy nicknamed Boom Boom. She has almost 60 kills and is rock solid.

I have now successfully recruited 20 soldiers and not a single woman among them. Oh well, my fighting squad is a sausage fest. :-O

I must sadly report that earlier this week, I suffered a catastrophic squad loss.

    Deceased:
    James Kirk
    Leonard McCoy
    Mr Spock
    Montgomery Scott
    Hikaru Sulu

These heroic men fought and died trying to save mankind. I might have gotten slightly emotional as the battle turned against me, and the crew of the Enterprise started to suffer horrible casualties. Despite herculean efforts on the field of battle, Bones eventually ran out of medpacs. Not long after, the first traumatic death occurred.

Rumor has it a Firefly class ship was seen in the area, and may be called upon to provide a fresh combat unit this weekend.

    I'll be in my bunk.

You'd think you'd know better than to dress them in red shirts before sending them away on a mission....

I always give my new recruits red shirts and helmets. They may die, and I don't want to get to know them until they at least get a nickname. I think of it as the same as in Gears of War...

Weird. I've gotten about 33% women in my recruiting.

Yeah, all my rookies get dressed in hot pink until they get promoted. Then they get an armor color designated by class. Heavies = gold. Support = blue. Assualt = red. Sniper = white. (Because I'm old & easily confused so it helps to know who is positioned where at just a glance instead of cycling through squad members before making any moves.)

    The enemy's gate is down.

Wait, stupid question, how do you color coordinate the armor? Is it the same screen where you can pick everything else? I never noticed you had that option that's why I ask.

Yeah, when you click on an individual soldier's name you get the screen with four options: Abilities, Loadout, Customize, Dismiss. Customize lets you change name, nickname, appearance, armor look & color, etc. Color is all the way at the bottom.

Doh! Thanks. Nothing like killing aliens with a fashion coordinated team of spec ops.
