So the guild we are in does not seem to be very social at this point, but I am assuming that this is due to everyone being so enthralled with the game. I mean the guild already has a couple of level 80 players <ack>. I am currently at level 32 on my Ranger only because I am fighting myself every step of the way to focus on just that toon for the moment. I almost started my Thief yesterday because I ran into a couple difficult parts. I fought my way through it, and was glad I did because it got me through more of my story line.
Really intrigued by where this story is going, the first little bit was kind of funny, and entertaining, then it started to drag out a bit, now it is getting kind of serious sounding, and more in depth.
Even with a bow that is a few levels lower then my toon I am doing good damage in groups, and when I am alone I usually just start out with the first few fast attacks on my bow then switch to my two handed sword to enter the fight with my Dog.
All in all I am still having a lot of fun, crafting is fun, but some components just don't drop very well for me, the totems, claws, etc...
The storage on the collectibles is great how it stores them by level of use, all of the first tier items in the first row, second tier items in the second row, etc..
I am just amazed at the creative thought process on this game and how well it was designed. I keep thinking that this is a Korean MMO which would normally count against it for me, but ArenaNet is in Bellevue Washington, and was bought by NCsoft in Korea. So more of a mix of designs I think, and it worked really well.
They are all on Mumble, the voice chat service. So the guild we are in does not seem to be very social at this point, but I am assuming that this is due to everyone being so enthralled with the game.
The guild leader and officers (of which I am now one) want to get some WvW/sPvP/Dungeon nights going as soon as everyone has spent some time with the game and feels comfortable enough to apply their PvE skills to something else.
That's my problem also. I think we're supposed to be buying those components off the trading post from players who aren't crafting or have other crafting disciplines. All in all I am still having a lot of fun, crafting is fun, but some components just don't drop very well for me, the totems, claws, etc...
Except for 8 slot bags, I've yet to craft anything useful for myself.
Some fun action from last night

Ok I've officially been roped back in. I was a big Guild Wars nerd back in the day and I even still have a 4'X4' poster on my office wall of the old guild wars map. I've joined the guild and added Sheriff, Wortdog, Volkie, Ironwolf, and Kaz to my friends list. If I'm missing anyone please send me your info so I can add you as well. opshn.6492 and opshnz is my toon name. oh yeah I'm a gremlin or naked ewok.

Some good tips for the Ascalon Catacombs (level 30 dungeon):

I tell you though. The level 30 dungeon is longer and harder then the level 40. The level 40 dungeon is great. 30 to 40 minutes. about 3 or 4 chest, and at level 45ish I was getting 20,000xp each time. Did it five times in a row before it broke on s and would not spawn the second boss.
Would be more then happy to take a group through it, unlike the level 30 one, I know this level 40 one pretty well.
