I know everyone is probably getting tired of rehashing the new console rumors, but the lack of back compat is still a big one for me. You guys made a very valid point in the last cast; if the 720(or Durango or whatever) is not backwards compatible then it must rely on launch titles to sell consoles and not the huge and diverse library available for the 360. I've heard it said, if you want to play 360 games, keep your 360 as well, but will this even be possible if you migrate your profile to a new console? I suppose if everything is stored in the cloud it could work, but who knows? Just been thinking about this alot lately...![]()
I've been trying not to.
There was another rumor about Durango requiring a persistent internet connection. When we bumped into Comcast's bandwidth cap last month, I pulled the network cable out of my Xbox. It's also not uncommon to have my network connection hiccup (or go down for a not-insignificant period of time). It would infuriate me to be unable to play my Xbox due to circumstances out of my control.
Yeah, I think everyone gets them from time to time. My connection is usually great; however for some reason Thursday night I had a horrible connection. Last night, no issues at all. For me to not be able to play at all b/c of network issues in the limited amount of time available to me would just be unacceptable.smiley-angry018.jpg
I still think this is in the "highly unlikely" rumor bin. Most reports say that 40% of all 360 consoles are offline. I can't imagine a business decision that would alienate almost 50% of the user base.
I do think it would be more likely to have release day digital downloads which I would happily welcome.
