    Custom Games Night: Gold Pro Settings and Maps

    I'm hosting a custom lobby with Gold Pro gametypes and maps Tuesday night. Maps are an array of well made Forge remakes, new Forge maps, and modified Reach maps. The gametypes are MLG in nature, and were were created with the intent of replacing what MLG settings are currently. The games are Team Slayer, KoTH, Flag, and FFA. The settings include zero bloom, faster movement, increased jump height, less gravity, 4-shot DMR and only jetpack pickups (one map or so)...more akin to your traditional Halo experience.

    8 to 10 people would be ideal, although we'll adjust accordingly. Lobby will be open to friends, invites will be accepted until the "recommended cap" is reached.

    We played these settings last night and had fun. Well, I was basically a meatshield while noobing it up on some unfamiliar maps, but the settings made for some interesting games.

    Thanks for the invite though worm. If I'm available to play tonight I'll join if you need another punching bag...lol

    You don't give yourself enough credit, Darth. And your callouts are awesome. I'll be on tonight for some more. To be totally honest, last night was the most fun Ive had in Reach in _months_. Every game was close and intense and the maps we played were just awesome. I want another game or two on that Derelict (sp?) remake.

    Good games last night. I really enjoy the "Gold Pro" settings and some of those maps were a lot of fun to play. I especially enjoy the maps without power weapons. There is nothing wrong with a good DMR-only map to provide for some good action.

    Found a post by the author of GoldPRO explaining the gametypes.

    KoTH includes stackable time. The more people in the hill, the faster time accrues.

    There is no flag return on CTF, and was done intentionally so that the games don't end up stalemates. The points for slaying are described as being included as a tie-breaker. I'll edit the CTF gametype to create a classic game.



    I really enjoy the CE-like kill times. Much more rewarding and punishing. Too bad Reach was not designed around ZB from the beginning.

    Curious when you say no flag return does that mean you can't sit next to your flag to return it faster but it still returns by itself after a set time......or does that mean it will never return until capped?

    I'm always down to try goldpro or mlg in customs...but I'm west coast and get on late (after kids get to bed).....
