So I hit the level cap (50) going through the 2nd passthrough. I know I can get additional levels with some DLC content but I am waiting on a deal of the week or something.
I also read that they are upping the level cap by 8 to all, regardless of DLC purchases. It is due soonish? ANyone have any knowledge of this?

The patch is rumored to be out this week maybe tomorrow. It was originally supposed to be out last tuesday the 12th.

You might be waiting for a while for another Deal Of The Week. I think all the DLC was a DOTW about two months ago, so it probably won't drop again anytime soon. The GOTY Edition is releasing next week, which includes all the DLC, including the latest Claptrap content, plus the new level cap. If the new level cap isn't live already, it will be by next week.

The rise in level cap you're referring to is 8 new levels, in addition to the 11 added for the General Knoxx content. In order to unlock those levels, you must have the General Knoxx content installed. None of the other DLC is required, but you need Knoxx or the cap isn't raised. The reason for this is the new level cap is 69...Knoxx raised it to 61 and this new patch raises it 8 levels to 69.

You're right. Sorry about that. I remember reading that you would need the Knoxx DLC for the increased levels. Maybe I read it wrong, or they changed it recently. Either way, get some levels people!

Just FYI, the patch for said 8 free levels hasn't been released yet. No date but Gearbox said early October so it should be any day now.

According to Borderlands Wiki, the patch is going there final certification and should be out by the end of the month.

I really liked this game but playing with friends at different levels really blew as I was starting out, I couldn't kill anything and vise versa when I played with someone with a lower level. I would love to get back into this game for some co-op but I don't want to play it enough by myself. Any word if they changed this with any DLC? I think I'm a level 40 something, about a third of the way through on my second play throughlet. Let me know if anyone wants to team up sometime.

I had to quote myself to point out what a stupid comment I made. Not even a week later, the DLC is all half price...

This doesn't include the Claptrap content that just released, but 1200MS Points for all of the others is a steal. If you want them, now is the time to grab all of them.
